Dan – Personal Trainer

Experience
I qualified as a Personal Trainer 2 years ago and I have worked with groups and individuals to help them achieve their fitness goals.
I mostly work with weight loss clients as I was quite overweight when I was younger and have tried every weight loss program imaginable. It is only through healthy eating and regular exercise that I have been able to maintain a healthy weight and I love sharing my knowledge with people in a similar position.
Achievements:
Apart from my own personal weight loss, I have had some truly amazing results from my clients. Some people who have been really desperate to lose weight for their wedding have seen fantastic results, and others that have trained for health and self-esteem reasons have literally transformed their lives.
Why I do what I do
I know what it is like to be overweight and feel unhealthy and I can say from first hand experience, there really is no better way to feel than fit and healthy.
I was never good at sport at school and was never interested in exercise at all. It was only when a friend of mine set me the challenge to do the Great North Run that I started to do any exercise. It literally changed my life. I started to be able to run further and further and then started to pass on my knowledge to another friend who was interested in running. She started to see results and I became more and more interested in fitness. I left my office job and enrolled on a Personal Training course. That was in 2008 and I have been working full time ever since.
I now love exercise, and love nothing more seeing my clients get results.
Interesting fact
I used to be a bit of a car enthusiast and rebuilt 2 crash damaged VW beetles.
What I enjoy
I see exercise as part of my every day life, but I believe that you should exercise to live and not the other way around. If you strike the right balance you look and feel your best and can enjoy every aspect of your life. I also love going to festivals and gigs and going out with my friends.
