Lisa – Owner and Personal Trainer

Personal Trainer Cheshire : Lisa

Being involved in sport and exercise for close to 15 years now, has along the way brought a wealth of experience. As a student I was lucky enough to be at one of the leading University’s in the country for Studying Sports Science (Manchester Metropolitan University). This enabled me the unique opportunity to work on Sports Science Support teams testing the fitness levels of international athletes.

Following Postgraduate studies I went on to teach PE at Secondary and FE level. Whilst teaching I became increasingly focused on the importance of health and wellbeing of the general population. This led me to a career in Personal Training, after training with the globally renowned Premier International.

For the past two and a half years I have been fortunate enough to assist people towards their goals as a Personal Trainer. Home-based training is a privileged and rewarding career as it allows you to build strong relationships in the process of helping people make positive changes towards a healthier life. It’s a part of who I am and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Becoming a well-regarded Personal Trainer in my field has been a really positive achievement for me. From a very young age I had two strong ambitions – to support others and to live a healthy and active life. My career fulfils these ambitions perfectly.

Having built a strong reputation has now enabled me to grow the business further by developing a small team of Personal Trainers with shared core values and ambitions, so we can reach out positively to even more people who want our support; and also do more for charity. Helping others change their lives for the better is what I will be most proud of in years to come… that much I know.

Coming 1st Female at Winter Tough Guy was also a great sense of achievement for me… but that was topped by the press coverage received by my clients Jon and Phil who also took part in the crazy event! I shed a small tear of pride when they featured in the Macclesfield and Wilmslow Express.

Why I do what I do:

I do what I do from a genuine want and need to help people to achieve what they may have thought unthinkable… only 5-10% of the population enjoy exercise so I’m making it my personal mission to increase that figure. The truth is most people have just not had a positive association with physical health and wellbeing. This is why I will knock on doors at 6:00am with bags of enthusiasm in each and every season of the year!

But more importantly it is the reason why LFF will continue to bring a sense of adventure to being healthy and active… asking clients I work with to step outside of their comfort zone and introduce them to new and exciting activities and pursuits that they can fully embrace.

To continue to support clients in their quest to achieve what’s important to them. For some it is inch loss, for others it is fitness, and yet others it is about a sense of wellbeing and confidence. I am proud of achievements so far but know that it is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of the reach of support we can provide – from children to adults, for male and female, from beginners to athletes, of all body shapes, and everyone in-between. If people have a desire then I know we can help them get there, and it feels good to know that.

And the most amazing part is that I get to meet new and interesting people every day, each of whom inspires me. Quite simply, that is what I want to keep on doing!

Interesting fact:

I carried out a Sports massage on Pink and a few others from her entourage after their recent tour in Manchester. I was very lucky to be part of a small team who were asked, but never thought I’d end up massaging Pink herself! I remained grounded though and we had a good chat about how annoying the Paparazzi were – because obviously I have that issue all the time 😉

What I enjoy:

Hmmm, well at the risk of sounding repetitive, I love helping make a difference. It’s humbling, rewarding, great fun and hugely fulfilling all at the same time!

I totally love being active, it’s in my blood, and really enjoy getting out on my mountain bike in the Peak District or North Wales. I love doing things that are different (hence Tough Guy), and it’s fantastic when my clients also get involved. I’m a strong believer that there’s something for everyone and that life is for enjoying.
