The National Trust Outdoor Gym
In January we’re privileged to be partnering with the National Trust in the North West region, to support their Outdoor Gym campaign. According to research undertaken by Essex University working out in the great outdoors improves physical and mental health more than exercising at an indoor gym… whatever the season!
The National Trust have therefore compiled a 31-day fitness plan throughout January to inspire and support individuals to shed the pounds following the indulgence of Christmas.
Free outdoor group training sessions
To help people get active we’re running 4 free outdoor group training sessions during January at the following National Trust properties, all starting at 11am:
- Dunham Massey – Saturday 8th
- Speke Hall – Saturday 15th
- Dunham Massey – Saturday 22nd January
- and Speke Hall – Saturday 29th January
Note: There will be a £5 car park charge at Dunham Massey for non-National Trust members. Also, if turning up on the day without pre-registering please arrive at 10.30am.
These are aimed adults who are complete beginners or those relatively new to exercise and offer an all over body workout that will be fun and stimulating. Lasting approximately 45 minutes each session will involve some fun games, circuits, and body resistance exercises in idyllic surroundings. Our hope is that this will inspire and motivate you to kick-start a new and healthy lifestyle.
All you need to bring along is yourself and a water bottle to stay hydrated.
What to wear: trainers (with a good grip), tracksuit bottoms/leggings, layers to stay warm. Also bring a waterproof just in case.
