The Race for Life campaign is designed to inspire women from all over the UK to

take positive action against cancer

not merely in the context of their own health but also that of every other person in the country

Cancer Statistics

Unfortunately, statistics on cancers affecting women in the UK make for grim reading.

In 2007, 45,695 cases of breast cancer were diagnosed in women

making it by far the most common cause of cancer in females (accounting for 31% of all cancers).

Our commitment: for anyone who uses Lisa Foley Fitness Personal Trainers to get in shape for any Race for Life event, we’ll provide 20% of all profits to Cancer Research UK.

Get Fit, Save Lives!

There’s something very special about the Race for Life events… We’re not sure if it’s because it’s the UK’s biggest women-only event,  the amazing memories it creates or the fact that all your efforts go into ground breaking work that has helped to save millions of lives in the UK and across the world.

The truth is it’s probably all of the above, and the great thing about it is that it genuinely encourages involvement and gives us a reason to get fit! And we’re all for that!

So our mission for this Race For Life season is to encourage as much participation as possible, because literally every step counts.

And if you need a little bit of support then it is our aim to equip women of all shapes and sizes aged between 25 and 75 with the necessary skills and fitness to complete a 5K or 10K Race for Life event. And more than that, the training and nutritional advice will provide lasting health benefits – and a little fun along the way!

How can we support you?

There are 3 possible ways in which we aim to support you in getting fit for your event:

Race For Life No 1

Personal Training

Through 1-2-1 structured Personal Training, aimed at improving your 5k or 10k fitness, as well as providing the right nutritional advice for best performance (and enjoyment!) on the day

Price: £35 per session (including nutritional advice and running programmes)

Race For Life No 2

Train with Friends!

If you have a small group of friends, family or work colleagues (up to 4) then we can tailor a specific programme for you. Go on why not get your friends involved and make it a way not only to get fit, but also to share some quality time together!

Price per session: 2 people (£21 each), 3 people (£18 each), 4 people (£15 each)

Race for Life No 3

Train with others!

Finally, if we get enough interest we would love to run weekly two larger outdoor training groups (in Worley and in Sale) where at least 8 people can share training together more cost effectively. Just let us know if this is something you’d be interested in and we’ll get training started as soon as we have enough enthusiastic people ready to start!

Price per session: £7.50 (£30 per month)
